Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen with Her Excellency Sheikh Hasina and Saima Wazed (centre) at the International Conference on Autism and Neuro-developmental Disorders, Thimphu. Saima Wazed is the daughter of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, and the chairperson of National Advisory Committee on Autism and Neurodevelopmental disorders in Bangladesh. Her Majesty graced the inauguration of the International Conference on Autism and Neuro-developmental Disorders, along with the Prime Ministers of Bangladesh and Bhutan. During the event, Her Majesty launched the “Guideline for Differently-Abled Friendly Construction" developed by the Ministry of Works and Human Settlement, which is a comprehensive guideline for the universal design of new facilities and remodelling of existing structures to enable use by differently-abled people. The conference, which was attended by over 350 participants from Bhutan and abroad, is hosted by the Ministry of Health of Bhutan, with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Bangladesh. Shuchona Foundation, based in Bangladesh, Ability Bhutan Society (ABS), and the World Health Organization South-East Asia Regional Office supported the initiative. The 3-day Conference will provide a platform for policy-makers to engage with all stakeholders to solicit commitment for the implementation of international resolutions on autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Что касается самой королевы, то она училась в Индии на искусствоведа и по праву считается специалистом в области искусства. В лондонском колледже Regent’s College она получила образование по специальности «международные отношения». Помимо родного языка дзонг-кэ, королева свободно владеет английским и хинди. Также она участвует в защите окружающей среды и помогает людям с ограниченными возможностями. Джецун с удовольствием занимается общественной деятельностью, посещает школы, детские сады и общается с детьми.
